Canarios Viewpoint (Mirador de los Canarios)

Cofete Beach (Playa de Sotavento) is one of the most beautiful places on the island. Access is difficult because the road is not very good.
If you want to see this magnificent beach from a privileged position, you should visit the Canaries Viewpoint, 10 kilometers south of Costa Calma.
To access this lookout, you take the old road from Costa Calma to Morro Jable (FV-2). In the Canaries Gorge, there is a gas station from where the access to this viewpoint.

You can reach the viewpoint of two ways: on foot, parked at the gas station and taking the road up the cliff (there is a sign of "No Trespassing" but you can walk, you can drive or take the road to turn right, next to the Forbidden signal, but you must go slowly and with caution as you go through a private area.
Since the station is 5 km. to the lookout, so it takes to go down this road one and a half if you walk or 10 minutes if you take the car.

From the viewpoint, you have a magnificent view of the Cofete beach, the mountains that protect it (Pico de la Zarza), and the island from the beach and the magnificent valley of Cofete.
To the right of the lookout, there is a dirt road that climbs a hill, from where there are magnificent views of a cliff, and the end of the beach Cofete.
