Buenaventura Convent Betancuria

Whenever I visited Betancuria, one of the oldest cities in all the Canary Islands, and ancient capital of Fuerteventura, went directly to the historic center, to see his Church, the Archaeological Museum, etc.

But on the outskirts of this small town from the north, we stop at the Franciscan Convent San Buenaventura, in the year 1423.
The convent and church were built for the Franciscan friars who came to "evangelize" the inhabitants of the island during the conquest.
Currently retains only the walls of the church, for nothing remains of the convent.

In this church we can see the grave of Diego García de Herrera, one of the conquerors of the island, who died in 1485
