The Site
of the beach scrub is one of only around Canary Saladares. This salt marsh is
flooded periodically to coincide with spring tides of the
equinoxes, so that plants tolerate the area are salty sea
water (Uvilla de Mar, Matomoro, Salado, Balancon). We also found two endemic species
of reptiles (lizard Rough Perinquen Atlantic), as well as
birds that nest in this area (Tarabilla Canaria). The Saladar is
surrounded by scrub and Beach Hotels
ear Morro Jable, and is not
allowed to transit through this area (to reach the beach, we'll
do the footbridges that cross the protected area.
This protected area is the
smallest of the 13 areas that are of interest in Fuerteventura,
with an area of just over 100 hectares.
