Unamuno Museum is
in a house of the nineteenth century, in the place called at
this time Puerto Cabras (now Puerto del Rosario).
This house (Hotel Fuerteventura)
was the Don Miguel de Unamuno lived during his exilein Fuerteventura,
from the day March 12, 1924 to July 9 of that year.
Unamuno was exiled from the
peninsula in general is Fuerteventura by Primo de Rivera, and
his crime was "denouncing the political situation in Spain at
that time.
On his arrival he became friends
with several residents of Fuerteventura, among which Ramon
Castaneyra, and his house was the usual place for
chatting between Unamuno and his friends.
This house museum, we can see how the rooms were used Unamuno, as his
bed, his desk, the kitchen or living room he used.
And more interesting is to read multiple texts on Fuerteventura Unamuno,
which decorate the walls of this museum.
The Museum is located in the most central area of Puerto
del Rosario, next to the building of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, and
opposite the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary.
This museum is not spectacular, but very interesting and
worth visiting.
