Strategically located between the
Betancuria Rural Natural Park and Santa Ines Valley, in Tegu Mountain of
669 meters, this viewpoint was designed by Cesar Manrique the
most famous Lanzarote artist, and from this vantage point you
get an unbeatable view of the north and center of Fuerteventura.
If you look north, you can see the
coastal village of El Cotillo, or Tindaya Mountain, while if
facing south east, will see the town of Antigua, or
volcanoes near the village of Tiscamanita.
In this building, besides being
able to have a coffee or snack to enjoy excellent views, you can
also enjoy some of the temporary exhibitions organized by the Cabildo of
Fuerteventura..
A
few years ago, next to
the viewpoint, you could see the "Shutter Mist",
installed on the left of the lookout, and is part of a pilot of
the Canary Islands for water by natural methods. The mist catcher consists of a
metallic structure where panels are installed plastic so that
when they collide clouds, water is captured and taken
to a gutter which is collected and subsequently stored.
