In
the village of La Ampuyenta,
there are two attractions: the little church with magnificent
paintings and the Museum of Dr. Mena. Tomas Mena was an illustrious majorero who
studied medicine and was born on a village near La Ampuyenta. It
was a very generous and altruistic, they did not charge the
sick and tried to establish a hospital in the village free. The house where he lived his last
years has become a museum in tribute to this doctor. In it, guided by Joseph, curator of
the museum, which excellently explains all about the museum, we
can see what it was a house in the nineteenth century, and in
different rooms can also see areas where he received and treated
the patients who visited him. Also held various art exhibitions
in the museum room.
