The Interpretation
Centre Village of Atalayita has more than
115 archaeological buildings located in the valley of Pozo
Negro.
In addition to the constructions made by the "Mahos" for over
6 centuries, there are al somore modern constructions made
by pastors from the reconquest of Fuerteventura.
This area of
the island inhabitants had for centuries because it is the
valley where thevillage had water resources, good pasture for
their flocks of goats, and was a few meters from the beach of Pozo
Negro, where they had a source inexhaustible supply of fish
andshellfish.
In center has an exhibition
area which provides information about life in this town to
throughout history.
After visiting the exhibition, do
not forget to pick up a brochure marking the route to be
followed in the village, where he identifies and explains the
different types of buildings we visit.
It is also possible to climb to the
top of the Atalayita, and have a global view of this
archaeological site.
Open Tuesday to Saturday,
from 10.00 to 18.00.
